I was reading this morning and found some scriptures to overcome discouragement. There are answers to all we are dealing with in this life. It just seemed very interesting and enlightening. We all have to battle this in our lives and there are some really helpful things we can do. Because that is the tool of lucifer to discourage us so we give up. The Lord has provided ways to help us when we are going through this.
Things we can do to overcome discouragement
1. 2 Nephi 4:15 Read the Scriptures.
2. Delight in and ponder the things of the Lord 2 Nephi 4:16
Ponder how he has helped others in the past.
3. Trust in the Lord & look to him for support 2 Nephi 4:20-21,34
4. Engage in Mighty prayer for help to overcome our adversity 2 Nephi 4:24
Maybe it is trying to sale a house, trying to come up with money for our rent,
Maybe it is loss of a job etc. marriage problems etc.
5. Be industrious work. 2 Nephi 5:15,17 Sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves is another tool of the Adversary as long as he can keep us down he is winning the battle.
6. Serve in the Temple 2 Nephi 5:16 going to the Temple can really help when we are going through
7. Go to church and you can receive strength there.
hard times.
8.Keep going to the Temple as often as we can helps allot. That is what is so great about belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ we have some extra place we can go for peace and to recieve answers to our problems.
You know I have never thought of it in this way how to use the scriptures to help me with daily challenges. I know these things are true because I have tried them.
When I was going through the adversity with an employee at work I put my trust in the Lord and things worked out. I can look back now and see the light of this advice but when I was going through it , it was hard to see how the Lord helps. I knew the Lord was helping me but I see a clearer picture now how he had a hand in all things. They worked out for my good in the end.
