ColdFusion is a database?

Ok, I know that ColdFusion makes database work a piece of cake, but calling CF a database is going too far. But I just ran across this site while searching the web that does just that:

"Will ezDatabase work with other databases (MS SQL, Coldfusion, Oracle)?"

Too funny! :)

Do you think they were referring to the embedded Derby?

Well, that's not part of ColdFusion, it's part of the Apache project. But I guess it could be...I'm more inclined to think they don't know what they're talking about.

That makes me remember about Ben Forta's rant post a while ago where he states ColdFusion is not a DBMS

What about the people who insist Excel is a database. Of course, at least Excel has rows and columns. :)

Yeah, I've run into those people before...scary. There are a LOT of crazy things people do with Microsoft Office, just because they can't or don't want to talk to skilled professional who'd do it correctly. :)
